About
My name is Alejandro Dominguez, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In May 2024, I graduated with a degree in Communication Arts: Radio, TV, Film, with certificates in Digital Studies and Digital Cinema Production. For as long as I can remember, I have maintained an intense passion for human-based storytelling. I find that the most stimulating way to connect with other people is to simply hear them tell their story - and throughout my academic and professional experiences, I have had the honor to combine this passion for storytelling with my passion for digital media.
I am a member of one of the first generations to be brought up almost entirely on user-generated content - and one of the first generations to exist with nearly universal accessibility to generate said content. From a young age, I found myself inspired to create my own media; I made stop-motion animations, toy review videos, comedy skits, and whatever else I was inspired or skilled enough to create. It was through media creation I found my passions for filmmaking and content creation, and this passion followed me to the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Through my advanced production work in both Digital Studies and Digital Cinema Production, I have learned essential production skills that have allowed me to create media content for a wide variety of audiences. I have continued to utilize these skills throughout my professional experience as well. During my role as the Sheboygan Mayor’s Office Intern, I was able to help tell the story of the city by creating engaging newsletters and social media posts that emphasized Sheboygan’s community. While I interned at Wisconsin Humanities, I was able to hear the stories of Wisconsin’s incarcerated population, and helped share how the arts and humanities can help imprisoned people take control of their own stories. As a Media Production Assistant at the Wisconsin School of Business, I helped instructors engage with their students by helping them create better educational multimedia content. Post-graduation, I have spent my time continuing to work on a variety of short films, personal content, and documentary work as a videographer with the UW-Extension's RPI grant. As I begin my career as a video professional, I am eager to work with a variety of artists and professionals to learn how to best tell stories that matter.
